RIMA Foundation Announces Projects for 2009
Dec. 15, 2008

In preparation for the New Year's activities, the Records and Information Management Awareness Foundation has released the list of Projects the Not-for-profit NGO will be embarking upon next year 2009.

The Projects which are planned to be executed in alliance with different interest groups, stakeholders (local and International) and Government include:

  • National Awareness Campaign on Records and Information Management:

Aimed at educating government officials and other categories of the citizenry about importance of effective management of records and information throughout their life cycle and as a key component of national development. And also highlight the demerits of unorganised or otherwise poorly managed records to government, as it does not have ready access to authoritative sources of administrative, financial and legal information to support sound decision making or the delivery of programmes and services. Nor does the government have the means of holding itself accountable for what it has done or upholding the rights of its citizens.

  • National Cyber Security Awareness Campaign:

Aimed at educating home users, small business users, youths, institutions, government officials and other catgories of the citizenry about how the importance of securing their computers is related to protecting the nation's critical infrastructure and image abroad.

Interested organisations are adviced to contact RIMA Foundation at: projects@rimaw.org for further information.
